On June 27th, 2018, Austin Live & Local was approved for press credentials for the Bobby Tarantino vs. Everybody Tour featuring NF & Kyle. There was some doubt as to whether we would be approved for credentials, but we were notified via email on the day of the event that we had been approved. Prior to this, we were informed that Logic's production team would need to be notified of our request and that they would have to approve our press passes. We were not given a specific timeframe for approval, but it was not concerning that it might take some time for communication between the onsite venue production team and the touring production team.

Due to some misunderstandings and communication problems with the onsite production team, our crew was unable to attend any of the opening performances. As a result, this review will only cover the portions of the show that relate to Logic's performance.

As I walked across the bridge behind the stage, I heard chanting beginning within the venue: "Logic!, Logic!, Logic!" followed by the Rick & Morty intro to Bobby Tarantino II. I passed through security and saw Logic step onto the stage, the lights flashing into the crowd. I was standing above the crowd on the north side of the venue next to the vendors, and I could see thousands of people throwing their hands in the air in excitement of seeing Logic grace the stage. I was extremely excited to see the venue, from the floor to the lawn, packed out. In an attempt to capture the moment, I took out my phone, opened my camera app, and took a panoramic photo of the crowd as they began the wave. The photo turned out amazing and can be found on our Instagram. After taking the photo, I tried to find the rest of my crew, so I began walking down the steps to floor level. I determined that my photographer was in the photo pit, but I was not sure where my other associate was. Eventually, my photographer was escorted out of the photo pit and directed to return the camera to our vehicle. Unfortunately, this meant that I was required to escort him back to the vehicle and miss out on a significant portion of the show.

As for the performance produced by Logic and his production team, it was entertaining but also disheartening and sad at times. The frequent yelling of "Fuck boy" made me uneasy, as I was unsure who he was speaking to or the purpose of yelling this obscenity. When he stormed off stage as part of his act, it made me believe that we had underappreciated his performance, which was very confusing and left me uncomfortable for the rest of the evening. However, I was happy to be made aware of his DJ, Rhetorik, and was impressed by his performance during the interlude.

All in all, I was taken through a roller coaster of emotions with Logic's performance and left questioning Logic as well as myself. I had not anticipated going through this emotional lived experience, as I had expected to be experiencing happiness, euphoria, and overall entertainment. I do not blame Logic, the production teams, my crew, or myself. However, something went wrong along the line and ruined my evening.
